Changing the rhythm of German as an additional language classes through music and digital media

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss and describe didactic strategies applied during a music project in a class of German as an additional language (AL) at university level. Given the utterly importance of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as tools in the teaching of ALs, the music project was conducted on the Kahoot platform, encouraging critical reflection thinking by the students with focus on their interests and needs. We conclude that the activities proposed allowed the students to play an active role on their own development, by contributing in an effective way to the teaching and learning process in the German language.
