Dossier of corporal practices and physical activities in the SUS: Discourses in the scientific production

Abstract

This paper approaches how the discourse on corporal practices has been configured within the scope of Brazilian public health, especially in primary health care, based on the appropriation of the concept of risk. The objective was to analyze the discourses in scientific production legitimizing corporal practices and physical activities in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). The methodology was built from Foucault's archeology. The results were organized in three enunciative modes and showed that the discourses legitimizing corporal practices in SUS center predominantly on the biomedical-epidemiological model. Despite resistance in the field, this model operates in a compelling corporal managerial logic inherent to neoliberal governmentality.
