Editorial
The Brazilian Journal of Pharmacognosy (BJP) is a scientific periodic which is published quarterly. This issue comprehending the months of October to December, was supposed to be the last issue of volume 16. However, due to the big demand from the authors, we have now a greater number of articles already accepted and waiting to be published. For example, issues 17 (1) and 17 (2) are already closed with 20 articles in each one. Thus, it was decided to publish a supplement for volume 16, which will be published in early 2007.
Since we accepted to be the Editor-in-Chief of the BJP in 2005 we have been keeping a constant endeavour to achieve bigger visibility for our periodic. It is important to say at this point that we are now indexed to the following databases: Chemical Abstracts (CA), International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA), Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Abstracts (MAPA), Natural Products Alert (NAPRALERT), and CABI. We are also in the tentative phase of indexing in ISI and Biological Abstracts. Very soon we believe we will have our Impact Factor, which will also contribute to the visibility of our journal and attract the attention of many more researchers.
It is important to express our sincere thanks to all the authors who contributed to the result of their researches to be published in BJP. Sincere thanks are also due to the referees who carefully checked all the manuscripts submitted throughout this year.
We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a new year full of success in your works.
