RESUMO: O presente artigo aborda o culto da Jurema Sagrada em casas religiosas localizadas no município de Natal e no distrito de Contendas (Extremoz), Rio Grande do Norte. As festas e cerimônias públicas de dois terreiros de Jurema Sagrada são aqui analisadas como performance à luz de questões indígenas e afrodiaspóricas. Nesse sentido, recorre-se a reflexões e conceitos apresentados pela escritora Leda Maria Martins, bem como pelo pesquisador Luís Assunção, dentre outras referências. Apresentam-se também reflexões sobre os saberes tradicionais e os currículos dos cursos das áreas de teatro e de dança no âmbito acadêmico.

ABSTRACT This essay approaches the cult of Jurema Sagrada in religious houses located in the municipality of Natal and Contendas county (Extremoz), Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil). The celebrations and public ceremonies of two Jurema Sagrada´s houses are analyzed as performances, in light of Indigenous and Afro-diasporic issues. In this regard, the discussion is based on reflection and concepts presented by the writer Leda Maria Martins, as well as by researcher Luís Assunção, among other references. Reflections on traditional knowledge and the programme of theater and dance courses in the academic sphere are also presented.

RESUMO Voyage pittoresque dans le Brésil, de J. M. Rugendas, retrata uma natureza habitada por brancos adeptos da civilização europeia, indígenas sub-humanizados e negros servis. Identificamos e analisamos os patrimônios-territoriais em territórios de exceção de regiões ocupadas tradicionalmente por etnias indígenas que constam nas iconografias de Rugendas. Destacamos a resistência decolonial às opressões coloniais e as contradições estético-histórico-filosóficas da cultura europeia à luz de teorias do pensamento decolonial latino-americano.

ABSTRACT J. M. Rugendas’s “Voyage pittoresque dans le Brésil” depicts a nature inhabited by white adherents of European civilization, subhumanized indigenous peoples, and enslaved blacks. We identify and analyze the territorial heritages in exceptional territories of regions traditionally occupied by indigenous ethnicities that appear in Rugendas’s iconography. We highlight the decolonial resistance to colonial oppressions and the aesthetic-historical-philosophical contradictions of European culture in light of theories of Latin American decolonial thought.

RESUMO A contribuição de pessoas negras para o pensamento social brasileiro não é recente. Diante disso, a questão central deste artigo é saber como a produção intelectual de Manuel Querino, Evaristo de Moraes, Mário de Andrade, Virgínia Bicudo, Edison Carneiro, Clóvis Moura e Beatriz Nascimento dialogou com os paradigmas estabelecidos na historiografia da escravidão e do pós-Abolição, assim como na sociologia das relações raciais. Será argumentado que esses intelectuais, apesar do silenciamento ou das dificuldades de validação de suas narrativas, ideias e enunciações, foram propositivos, antecipando, complementando ou mesmo se opondo aos paradigmas que marcaram os estudos da experiência negra no Brasil durante o século XX.

ABSTRACT Black people contributions to the Brazilian social thought is not a recent phenomenon. Accordingly, the core question herein addressed concerns how the intellectual production by Manuel Querino, Evaristo de Moraes, Mário de Andrade, Virgínia Bicudo, Edison Carneiro, Clóvis Moura and Beatriz Nascimento engaged with the paradigms set in the slavery and the post-Abolition period historiography, as well as in the sociology of race relations. This article argues that these intellectuals, despite the silencing imposed upon them or the difficulties they faced in legitimizing their narratives, ideas and enunciation forms, achieved important theoretical contributions by anticipating, completing or even challenging the paradigms that have shaped the 20th century studies on the Black experience in Brazil.

RESUMO O artigo discute a atuação do Serviço Nacional de Informações (SNI) no monitoramento do Projeto Igrejas-Irmãs entre a Prelazia de Itacoatiara (AM) e a Arquidiocese de São Paulo nos anos de 1970 e 1980. O SNI, durante a ditadura civil-militar no Brasil (1964-1985), estruturou no Amazonas complexa rede de vigilância em favor de atividades empresariais extrativistas e operações de concentração de terras. As experiências de resistência da Igreja Católica a esses projetos hegemônicos na região são problematizadas, dentre outras fontes, a partir do jornal O São Paulo.

ABSTRACT The article discusses the role of the National Information Service (SNI) in monitoring the Sister Churches Project between the Prelature of Itacoatiara (AM) and the Archdiocese of São Paulo during the 1970s and 1980s. During the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985), the SNI established a surveillance network in the state of Amazonas to support extractive industry activities and land consolidation operations. The Catholic Church’s resistance to these hegemonic projects in the region is examined, drawing on sources including thenewspaperO São Paulo.

RESUMO A religião permeia a vida e a obra de Mário de Andrade, aspecto estudado por pesquisadores em periódicos e livros, como Lopez (1972), por exemplo. Inicialmente influenciado pelo catolicismo, Mário amplia seu interesse pelas manifestações populares da cultura ao dedicar-se às “pesquisas etnográficas”, entrando em contato com outras matrizes religiosas, sobretudo africanas e ameríndias. Este artigo analisa essa trajetória, observando sua prática como congregado mariano e sua dedicação às pesquisas sobre as culturas não europeias, sobretudo nas manifestações africanas e ameríndias, suas expressões artísticas, articuladas, muito frequentemente, com práticas religiosas.

ABSTRACT Religion permeates the life and work of Mário de Andrade, a subject examined by scholars in journals and books, such as Lopez (1972). Initially influenced by Catholicism, Mário broadened his interest in popular cultural expressions by engaging in ethnographic research, which brought him into contact with other religious traditions, particularly those of African and Indigenous American origin. This article examines this trajectory, focusing on his experience as a member of the Marian Congregation and his dedication to the study of non-European cultures, especially African and Indigenous American traditions, whose artistic expressions were very often closely intertwined with religious practices.

RESUMO O artigo analisa como a poesia de Carlos Drummond de Andrade, em sua conformação paisagística, traduz a crise moderna do habitar, marcada pela perda da cosmicidade. Ao mesmo tempo, ela apresenta a casa como uma figura memorial que restitui, ainda que de modo efêmero, o sentimento de pertencimento ao lugar existencial. São interpretados diversos poemas à luz dos pensamentos de Augustin Berque, Martin Heidegger, Walter Benjamin, Georg Simmel e Juhani Pallasmaa. Conclui-se que a lírica drummondiana, ao explicitar o drama habitacional moderno, constitui uma crítica à acosmia do habitar contemporâneo.

ABSTRACT This article examines how Carlos Drummond de Andrade’s poetry, in its landscape-based form, expresses the modern crisis of dwelling, marked by the loss of cosmicity. At the same time, it presents the house as a memorial figure that briefly restores the sense of belonging to the existential place. The discussion draws on the thought of Augustin Berque, Martin Heidegger, Walter Benjamin, Georg Simmel, and Juhani Pallasmaa. It is concluded that Drummond’s lyrics, by making explicit the modern housing drama, constitute a critique of the acosmy of contemporary dwelling.

RESUMO Diante da efeméride, em 2025, dos 200 anos do Diário de Pernambuco e dos cem anos do Livro do Nordeste, publicação comemorativa do primeiro centenário da folha pernambucana, este artigo retorna ao livro do Diário para organizar informações a seu respeito e para situá-lo enquanto objeto que permite a devida identificação das sobreposições entre o pensamento freyriano, o Movimento Regionalista e a imprensa pernambucana, verificando, assim, algumas dimensões do processo de consolidação do Nordeste enquanto comunidade imaginada. Por meio da análise histórica e documental do livro, o estudo examina os objetivos intelectuais de Freyre, os traços modernistas e regionalistas da obra e o papel da imprensa e da elite letrada nordestina na construção simbólica do Nordeste.

ABSTRACT On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Diário de Pernambuco and the centenary of the Livro do Nordeste (Northeast Book) - a commemorative publication for the newspaper’s first centennial - this article revisits the publication to organize information about its origins and to situate it as an object through which to identify the overlaps between Freyrean thought, the Regionalist Movement, and the Pernambuco press, thereby revealing dimensions of the process of consolidating the Northeast as an imagined community. Through historical and documentary analysis, the study examines Freyre’s intellectual project, the modernist and regionalist features of the work, and the role of the press and the literate northeastern elite in shaping the symbolic construction of the Northeast.
