Este livro segue os princípios fundamentais que nortearam a obra "Imunologia" de FERRI, CALICH & VAZ editada primeiramente em 1977. Alguns capítulos aqui apresentados foram, em parte, calcados na obra acima citada sendo, contudo, devidamente atualizados e adequados a nova estrutura proposta. O objetivo principal, entretanto, continua a ser o ensino da Imunologia para estudantes de graduação de modo que o aluno, através deste texto, possa obter as informações que o introduzam de maneira adequada no aprendizado dos fenômenos imunobiológicos.

The "Modern Methods in protein Chemistry" contains review articles, including relevant literature references and gives an up to date survey on this rapidly developing field of analytical methods on the protein chemistry for isolating, analysing and characterizing different proteins.

This volume includes several articles of protein analysis by immunoassays and western blot techniques that utilize the bioluminiscence-enhanced detection system; HPLC techniques for amino-acid analysis and microcalorimetry of protein-ligand interaction and protein unfolding; crystaliographic and image reconstruction studies on ribossomes.
