The inaccessible to speech: borderline phenomena and the clinical management of the non-verbal sphere

Resumos

This article aims to investigate the communication processes underlying verbal language found in the analytical relationship. We will analyze how the concept of transference changes in psychoanalytic literature, opening space for the intersubjective dynamics present in the setting. Dialoging with attachment theory and ethology, we will present borderline phenomena, marked by intense bodily manifestations in the context of interpersonal relationships. Then, we will defend the hypothesis that an inaccessible nucleus to speech lies in every subject, which appears as clinical material mostly in the analysis of severely ill patients, where traumatic experience is inscribed in sensory levels..
