How health professional assist women experiencing violence? A triangulated data analysis

This article analyzes the knowledge of professionals on violence against women and the attitudes and referrals made by these professionals, using a triangulated data analysis of 221 questionnaires and 23 interviews, that was applied in doctors and nurses. Adequate procedures are performed, but are insufficient due to the complexity of the problem of violence, as occur with referrals. Gender-based violence must be addressed in the training of health professionals, a process that should continue in services with the aim of raising awareness and prepare them to deal with. To identify the network protection against violence and its articulation is urgent in addressing the problem.
