Resumos

A incidência de hemorragias e úlceras agudas do esôfago, estômago e duodeno, no pós-operatório de operações intracranianas é fato conhecido desde 1846 (Rokitansky). Comentam-se neste trabalho as várias teorias que têm sido aventadas para explicar o fenômeno. Apresentando dois casos nos quais hemorragias graves do aparelho digestivo ocorreram após operações intracranianas, o autor relata como foi essa condição diagnosticada e dominada na prática.

The incidence of esophageal, gastric and duodenal hemorrhages and acute ulcer in the postoperative period of intracranial operations has been known since 1846 (Rokitansky). In this article several theories suggested to explain the occurrence are commented. Two such cases are presented, where the author gives thoroughly report on the diagnosis and its treatment.

RESUMO

A incidência de hemorragias e úlceras agudas do esôfago, estômago e duodeno, no pós-operatório de operações intracranianas é fato conhecido desde 1846 (Rokitansky). Comentam-se neste trabalho as várias teorias que têm sido aventadas para explicar o fenômeno. Apresentando dois casos nos quais hemorragias graves do aparelho digestivo ocorreram após operações intracranianas, o autor relata como foi essa condição diagnosticada e dominada na prática.

SUMMARY

The incidence of esophageal, gastric and duodenal hemorrhages and acute ulcer in the postoperative period of intracranial operations has been known since 1846 (Rokitansky). In this article several theories suggested to explain the occurrence are commented. Two such cases are presented, where the author gives thoroughly report on the diagnosis and its treatment.
