ADVENTURE, ORIENTATION PRACTICES AND TEACHER TRAINING: THE POWER OF FREIREAN THOUGHT FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

This study aims to highlight the Orientation Practices developed with Physical Education degree students, located in the interior of Rio de Janeiro State. The work has as its central part, the teaching process of a pedagogic sequence made from the Orientation Practices, prioritizing compass dealing and the preparation of sketches to find the azimuths. Methodologically, it came forward that the studies in the/of the/with the school routine, are epistemologically supported by Freire’s pedagogy. It used the field notebook, the image register , and students’ reports as sources of data production. The results showed that: first, freire’s thinking power when thinking the contextualized teaching; second, the possibility to think of learning processes specifically to each local reality; and third, the students’ motivation when facing an unknown body culture movement, expanding the students’ experience.
